From a background as a jeweller and printmaker, I make intimate pictures and sculptures, based on plants and animals. The work is mixed media, mainly wood or ceramic, using gesso or raku for their beautiful cracked and chalky surfaces. To this I add oil paint, pencil and collage; often monochrome, with small injections of colour.
